Everyone in our office has one goal in mind--to help you feel better fast. We know that when your body isn't in top shape that your entire outlook on life can be affected. That's why you'll always be greeted with a smile here and leave with an even bigger one on your face.
My philosophy, or approach to my patients is to firstly educate them as best possible. I try to clearly explain what I believe their diagnosis is. It is important to make their issues understandable so we can together decide the best course of action to improve their foot issue(s). I clearly describe and go over x-rays by actually showing and explaining the affected anatomy in clear, non medical terms. I will go through all ordered test results and explain how they can directly affect their particular foot problem. I try to always go through the available options and allow my patients to have input and aid in the decision process. I find engaged, and educated patients achieve better overall outcomes.
I take a conservative approach in my practice of podiatry. I saw all too many times my colleagues prematurely going to the 'surgical option' before exhausting all non-surgical or conservative options first. I was surgically trained and performed many hospital based surgeries for over 15 years, attaining Board Qualified status in foot surgery. Therefore, I can ably give second opinions about any proposed foot surgeries. I have taken it upon myself to offer and explain all possible conservative options to patients without the pressure of rushing patients to the operating room; possibly resulting in a problem worse than the original issue.
